American Movie by Stephen Farber American Movie, which won the jury prize for best documentary at 1999's Sundance Film Festival, focuses on an amateur filmmaker, Mark Borchardt, who's been living in the Milwaukee area and making his own makeshift horror movies since he was 14. After two decades of struggling, he's not one whit closer to achieving his dreams of glory.
