Bhaji on the Beach

by Stephen Farber

Bhaji on the Beach, an engaging comedy-drama by Indian director Gurinder Chadha, follows a diverse group of Indian women on an outing to Blackpool, England. The characters--who range from giggly teenagers to a prudish old dowager--are all sharply delineated, and the seedy Vegas-like resort is wonderfully evoked.
