The Big Lebowski by Stephen Farber Hot off their triumph with Fargo, the Coen brothers take a giant step backward with the misfired The Big Lebowski. Like many of their early efforts, it's a riff on old movies in this case, hard-boiled detective movies that quickly turns arch. Jeff Bridges gives a game performance as an aging, stoned radical, and there are funny supporting turns by Julianne Moore, David Huddleston and John Turturro.
