Scoop
Scoop covers some of the same ground as
Woody Allen's last movie, Match Point; it's a
tale of murder in the posh circles of London.
But this one is a much lighter piece, with
Woody himself as a magician who plays
sidekick to Scarlett Johansson as a journalism
student turned amateur detective.
Hugh Jackman, sexy as ever, is the aristocrat
who may be hiding a sinister secret,
and Ian McShane has a delicious cameo as
a dead journalist who provides a little supernatural
guidance to our two bumbling
sleuths. This minor Allen comedy has
enough sly touches to keep us entertained.
